What is the dress code?
Black tie optional: gentlemen may wear a tuxedo or a dark suit; ladies may wear an evening gown, cocktail dress, or tailored pantsuit. Please choose formal attire suitable for an evening celebration in Chapel Hill. See the Dress Code page for more details and outfit inspiration.
When should we arrive?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating. We will host welcome drinks on Friday evening, October 16, and encourage guests to arrive in Chapel Hill that day, if possible, so we can spend extra time together.
Is there parking?
Yes — the Carolina Inn offers a surface lot with valet and self-parking options. A parking fee applies; please allow extra time for drop-off or ticketing when arriving.
Where should we stay?
We’ve reserved discounted room blocks at the Carolina Inn and the AC Hotel by Marriott. The AC Hotel is within walking distance of the Carolina Inn. We recommend booking one of these properties, but you’re welcome to consider other hotels or Airbnbs in Chapel Hill.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Our caterer can accommodate most dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑free, nut allergies, etc.). Please notify the bride or groom of any restrictions by the RSVP deadline so we can confirm meal options with the venue. For severe allergies, include details and whether you carry an EpiPen.
Will there be a bar?
Yes — we will have an open bar offering wine, beer, and a curated selection of cocktails and spirits. Please drink responsibly; arrange transportation or designate a driver if you plan to consume alcohol.
Can I bring my children?
We love your little ones, but due to venue capacity this will be an adults-only celebration. If you are a nursing mother or need an exception for childcare, please contact the bride so we can help make arrangements.
Can I bring a guest?
We’re happy to allow single guests to bring one adult plus‑one. Couples will be invited together. If a plus‑one is included for you, it will be noted on your formal invitation; please RSVP for both guests by the deadline.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place outdoors in the Bryan Courtyard. The cocktail hour and reception will be held indoors in the Old Well Wing.
Are pictures allowed during the ceremony?
We appreciate your enthusiasm for our wedding; however, we kindly request that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. We have hired a professional photographer to document the service and will share the images with guests once they are available.
Can I attend your wedding?
We’d love to celebrate with everyone, but due to venue capacity we can only welcome invited guests and their confirmed plus-ones. Thank you for understanding — we appreciate your support and look forward to celebrating together in other ways soon.
